Meet Jonny and the Balearic Helicopters team at EU-Rotors, 1–3 December 2026. Discover Jonny’s three EASA Helicopter Safety Team presentations and find out how to join us for an R44 cross-country flight between Mallorca and Lyon. See You at EU-Rotors, December 2026 Balearic Helicopters is heading to Lyon, France, for EU-Rotors, 1–3 December 2026, and we’re taking our Robinson R44 with us. Jonny Greenall will once again be presenting on behalf of the EASA Helicopter Safety Team, delivering three sessions covering practical helicopter safety, flight training and the human factors behind poor pilot decision-making. And there’s more. We have two R44 positioning trips available; one flying from Mallorca to Lyon, and the other returning to Mallorca after the exhibition. If you fancy a proper cross-country helicopter adventure, read on! Three presentations you won’t want to miss 1. R44 Preflight Tips & Hints A practical, hands-on look at the things pilots should be checking before launching into the sky, using our own R44 as the demonstrator. Preflight checks are fundamental, but are we always looking carefully enough? This presentation highlights important items to look for and practical details that can make a real difference to how thoroughly we prepare an aircraft for flight. The importance of this subject was summed up by Robinson Helicopters’ Chief Flight Instructor: “It is great that you are making this presentation, we are pushing more info/document relating to the preflight checks ourselves, so I am glad you are presenting this at the expo.” If you fly an R44, this is a session worth putting in your diary. 2. KSA — Training Methodology from PPL and Beyond Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. In principle, KSA is a sound concept for developing competent pilots. In practice, has the way we teach, assess and understand it made the process more complicated than it needs to be? Jonny examines how a straightforward training philosophy can become a flawed classroom exercise when the methodology is poorly understood, badly implemented or incorrectly assessed. A thought-provoking look at pilot training, instructional practice and what really matters when developing competent pilots — from initial PPL training onwards. 3. Killer Instinct — Why Good Pilots Make Bad Decisions Experience, confidence and a good safety record don't make any pilot immune to poor decisions. This presentation explores five human traits that can lead otherwise capable pilots into dangerous situations. More importantly, it looks at how to recognise these tendencies in ourselves and others, and what we can do to prevent them from influencing our decisions in the cockpit. Because accidents aren't always caused by a lack of flying ability. Sometimes, the problem is the way we think. Put all three presentations in your EU-Rotors diary. We'll look forward to seeing you there. Meeting at EU-Rotors? Let's Talk Helicopters. EU-Rotors is a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet new people and talk all things helicopter flying, training and safety. Jonny and the Balearic Helicopters team will be there throughout the exhibition, and we'd be delighted to meet you. Whether you're considering a helicopter licence, looking at further training or instructor qualifications, interested in our R44 or R66 training, or simply want to discuss a project or share a flying story, come and say hello. If you'd like a dedicated slot to speak with Jonny or the team, get in touch beforehand and arrange an appointment. It's the best way to make sure we have time set aside for you during what is always a busy exhibition. Email info@balearic-helicopters.com to arrange your meeting. We look forward to seeing you in Lyon! Fancy flying to EU-Rotors in our R44? We're offering two R44 positioning trips between Mallorca and Lyon, giving pilots the opportunity to join us for a genuine cross-country adventure rather than simply arriving by airline. These are real positioning flights, with planned routes and overnight stops — not sightseeing tours. You'll be joining us on the journey to or from the exhibition. Trip 1: Mallorca → Lyon 26–27 November | Approximately 5 hours' flying Departing from Son Bonet on 26 November, with the aim of arriving in Lyon by 27 November, ahead of the exhibition. A great opportunity to experience the planning, navigation and practicalities of a longer helicopter cross-country flight. Trip 2: Lyon → Mallorca 4–5 December | Approximately 5 hours' flying We'll depart Lyon on 4 December and head back to Mallorca at a slightly more leisurely pace, with a château overnight stop planned along the way. Arrival back at Son Bonet is planned for 5 December. A rather good way to round off the exhibition! Interested in joining us? We have just two positioning opportunities available, and we expect interest to be high. If you'd like to join either leg, get in touch with Balearic Helicopters as soon as possible to discuss availability, arrangements and costs. Email: info@balearic-helicopters.com We look forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones and talking all things helicopter safety, training and flying in Lyon. See you at EU-Rotors!
