Want to be able to fly EASA registered helicopters? Finish what you started!
Balearic Helicopters can offer an ICAO helicopter pilot the EASA Ground Exams, Flight Training and EASA Flight Testing to obtain an EASA PPL(H).
Since BREXIT UK licence holders can no longer fly EASA registered helicopters. Many UK pilots mistakenly think the "in accordance with European Union" on their licence means it is an EASA licence...NOT ANYMORE!
Regulations are found in EASA PART-FCL ANNEX III

The information provided here will hopefully answer some of the questions you might have, although undoubtedly not all.
The primary difference lies in regulatory standards: EASA licenses adhere to European regulations, which often have stricter requirements for training, medicals, and ongoing proficiency compared to ICAO standards, which vary by country.
The conversion process generally takes between 1 to 3 months, depending on factors such as the pilot’s availability, exam schedules, and the time required to complete any additional training modules.
You'll need your current ICAO license, a valid Class 1 medical certificate, proof of flight hours, logbook entries, and any relevant certificates of training or exams. Additional documentation may be required based on your specific circumstances.
Yes, the conversion process can be managed alongside your current job. Many training providers offer flexible scheduling, including part-time and weekend options, to accommodate working pilots.
Experienced pilots may be eligible for exemptions based on their flight hours, types of aircraft flown, and previous training. However, all pilots must still pass the EASA theoretical exams and skill tests relevant to their license type.
