In an innovative and bold move, Balearic Helicopters has introduced a groundbreaking new service: the Cruise Passenger Transfer Service. Using a specially designed hoist system called the Fast Operational Outsit Line, this service allows cruise ships to remain anchored in the Bay of Palma, eliminating the need to dock. Passengers will be effortlessly and seamlessly flown directly to the Palma Port Helipad, avoiding congestion and streamlining the travel experience. Avril Phoole, Marketing Maestro at Balearic Helicopters, says, “This is a remarkable milestone for Balearic Helicopters. By enabling cruise ships to moor in the bay, we are significantly reducing pollution in the port while still ensuring tourists can easily access the city. This service provides a boost to local businesses and encourages crucial investment into the economy.” Jonny Greenall, Chief Pitot at Balearic Helicopters, adds, “In our initial trials, we've used the R66 helicopter, carrying up to 5 passengers at a time. But with the introduction of the new R88 model, we anticipate doubling our capacity on each trip, offering even more convenient transfers for passengers.” Stay tuned for more exciting updates…
