Balearic Helicopters is pleased to announce that they have entered a partnership with the Balearic Regional Oso Management Agency (BROMA).

[Palma de Mallorca, 1st April 2024] - The Mallorcan Pandas are normally spotted in the highest regions of the Tramuntana Mountains eating their favourite food, almond trees. In recent years the almond trees have been declining due to being ravaged by the Xylella bacteria, which in turn means that there is less food for the Mallorcan Panda.   The Mallorcan Panda is a rare sight in its natural habitat of the Tramuntana Mountains, and their numbers are dwindling.

Due their dark red brown fur and size, the Mallorca Panda is often mistaken by people as mountain goats and although apparently timid in nature they must be avoided in case they attack.

April Phoole, Balearic Helicopters Marketing Boffin says “it is fabulous for Balearic Helicopters to, once again, be assisting the Balearic Government in this important conservation project”.

Jonny Greenall, Balearic Helicopters Chief Pitot says “we’ll be flying daily over the peaks of the Tramuntana Mountains looking for flocks of the Mallorcan Panda, and then will be helicopter mustering them before relocating to the new established Nature reserve near Magaluf”
